Scout was founded in New York with a mission: to redefine lighting through purpose-driven design and thoughtful innovation. Our award-winning luminaires are the result of ground-up ideation, where cutting-edge technology meets architectural sophistication, both for today and the future.
Built around a 21st-century factory model and rapid manufacturing capabilities, Scout is delivering on the true promise of LED technology—beyond energy efficiency. From precision beam sculpting and higher outputs in compact forms to digital programmability and modular flexibility, we create lighting tools designed for adaptability and long-term performance.

MEET THE FOUNDER
ALEX NICOLAIDES
Alex Nicolaides is the founder of Scout lighting, A New York based manufacturer focused on modular LED systems for the architectural and design community.
Before launching Scout, he spent years developing lighting products and building manufacturing operations across the industry, gaining firsthand insight into the complexity of specifying and producing architectural lighting. Frustrated by rigid product lines and outdated systems, Nicolaides founded Scout to create a more adaptable approach.
At the core of the company is a patented LED platform he developed, designed to simplify specification while expanding design flexibility. Today, Scout is represented across the U.S. and Canada and recognized for its engineering-driven approach to modern lighting.
